I like talking about stuff. Sometimes other people want me to talk about stuff!
Stuff I talk about:
- pop culture (including, but not exclusively “geek culture” and “genre” stuff)
- diversity and inclusion
- the intersection of all those things in all their combinations and permutations!
- Oh, and thanks to Incredible Girl, I’ve been doing a lot of talking about the connection between the geek community and the BDSM/kink community.
If you’d like to invite me to sit on a panel or speak at an event, please go to my Contact page and give me a holler!
In the meantime, here are some places where you can see my cute face and/or listen to my dulcet tones.
Teresa on Supergirl Radio – This is a Supergirl podcast devoted to The CW Supergirl TV show and the comics character, Kara Zor-El. I co-hosted this with the lovely Rebecca Johnson from January 2015 to February 2016, and had the honor of participating in their special 100th Episode. You can also find episodes on iTunes and Stitcher.
Teresa on Two-Minute Time Lord (Again!) – April 24, 2012 – 2MTL 265, in which I talk about Steven Moffat’s showrunning of Doctor Who with host, Chip Sudderth, and fellow guests Deborah Stanish, Neil Perryman, and Steven Schapansky.
Teresa on Polyamory Weekly – September 25, 2011 – PW 288, in which I talk about geeks and kink with host, Cunning Minx, and fellow guest, Pendard.
Teresa on Two-Minute Time Lord – June 15, 2011 – 2MTL 216, in which I talk about Doctor Who S6.1 with host, Chip Sudderth, and fellow guests Frank Collins and Kyle Anderson.
GeekGirlCon 2016 found me on two panels that I enjoyed:
“The Heroine’s Journey” Panel – I joined Tricia Barr, Jennifer K. Stuller, and moderator B.J. Priester to talk about the state of The Heroine in pop culture. You can listen to the entire panel here:
“Incredible Girl Presents: Geeks and Kink” – my Incredible Girl co-creator and I, along with cast member (and awesome human) Sandra Daugherty, A.K.A. Sex Nerd Sandra, did a version of the Geeks and Kink panel we did last year at Emerald City Comic Con to a standing-room-only crowd! While I don’t have a recording of the panel at GeekGirlCon, Aurora and I were interviewed by Isabella Price of Black Girl Nerds at the con, which you can check out here:
Online News Association Conference 2015 – “Whose Idea of the Future is This?” featuring me, Matt Thompson (The Atlantic), Ytasha Womack (Rayla 2212), and Sherryl Vint (Prof. at UC Riverside) – Both video AND audio are available below!
Gallifrey One 2012 – “Doctor Who, Sexual Tropes, and the Gay Agenda” panel featuring me, Nicole Carlson, Mark Oliver, and Sarah Baum:
